Why Claims Happen

A claim doesn’t mean you did anything wrong. Even properly licensed tracks can be flagged.

Claims are typically part of routine platform checks, not a sign you did anything wrong. TrackDataPad helps you organize the information YouTube asks for when opening a dispute.
The same track can appear on multiple platforms with different metadata.
Someone else may have distributed the same track elsewhere; intentionally or not.
Non-Content-ID tracks can be misinterpreted as "unlicensed" by automated systems.
Metadata overlaps, reused loops, or similar audio structures can trigger false matches.
Automated systems prioritize caution, which can occasionally lead to legitimate audio being flagged.

FAQ

Even with free and legal Pixabay music, claims can appear.

Can I dispute claims on "no shield" music?

According to public replies from Pixabay staff, music downloaded directly from Pixabay is covered by the Pixabay License. The shield icon identifies tracks that participate in YouTube’s Content ID system. Claims may still occur due to automated matching or third-party registrations. Disputes must be submitted through YouTube Studio. TrackDataPad does not provide legal advice or guarantee dispute outcomes. For additional context, see public replies from Pixabay staff in their community forums:

Do I need a Pixabay account?

For autofill, you must be logged into Pixabay so the extension can read your public metadata, but you can generate a record manually with the track link.

Will YouTube accept the license?

While we assist with the process, we cannot guarantee the outcome. YouTube independently reviews the dispute you submit.

Does TrackDataPad replace Pixabay's license?

No. TrackDataPad does not validate, verify, certify, or alter your rights in any way. It only organizes public information from the track page (title, artist, link, your download date) into a tidy record you can attach to your dispute message.

Why does TrackDataPad only generate records for non-Content-ID tracks?

Because Pixabay already provides a downloadable file for Content-ID-registered tracks.

For non-Content-ID music, Pixabay does not issue any downloadable file.

Users must manually gather the info themselves.

TrackDataPad simply automates something users already do manually and helps you:

  • capture the track's public information
  • include optional context you find helpful
  • save everything in one place

It's a convenience tool, not a license generator.

What if my dispute gets rejected?

In similar cases, Pixabay staff have recommended:

  • Contact the uploader through their Pixabay profile
  • A brief note that the track follows the Pixabay License (include track title + link).
Is this affiliated with Pixabay?

No. TrackDataPad is an independent helper tool. It is not endorsed by, partnered with, or officially connected to Pixabay in any way. TrackDataPad only reads publicly visible metadata from track pages you choose to open.

Is TrackDataPad free?

Yes. TrackDataPad is free for individual record generation. A paid subscription is only required for batch features and higher-volume workflows.

Is my data stored or shared?

TrackDataPad does not sell or share your data. Generated records stay with you. Temporary technical data is used only to run the service and prevent abuse.

What does "archiving" mean?

Archiving creates a public snapshot of the track's page for reference. TrackDataPad does not upload your audio, videos, or personal content anywhere.

Why do I need the bookmarklet or Chrome extension?

Pixabay does not provide a public API for music metadata. Because of that, TrackDataPad cannot fetch artist names or your Pixabay username directly from the server.

The bookmarklet and extension solve this by reading the information directly from the track page in your own browser, the same data you can already see.
